Disappointment
I'm going to take the lack of comments on my last post as an indication that first of all, no one cares, but more importantly, that I was right. And that's good.
This one time when I was listening to my Dad having a conversation with someone at one of our parties he said a thing I will never forget, "More often than not the better thing is to do nothing that to do something." Many people seem to forget that if someone (ahem: Ben) insults you (ahem: Sarah) that by replying in any way you make yourself seem more of an ass. By not replying you're actually putting down that person's opinion as not worth your commenting prowess. By saying indirectly, "I don't care what you think", you're creating much more of an impression that that is actually what you think than if you post an angry comment in response.
That is partially why I am so interested in my idea of a forum in which everyone talks about everyone. For one you could easily divide everyone into the people who care about their image, and those who don't just by seeing who clearly wrote something for an audience other than the person, but you could also divide everyone into those who care and those who don't, as well as have a good laugh at those who think weird shit about you. For that purpose, here's the link: http://p214.ezboard.com/buni2005. At least feel free to post about me.

I didn't post a comment because I'm lazy about posting comments and I discussed King Lear with you anyways.
I agree with the main gist of the post, especially the example you chose, because I know who I sided with in that one, and it wasn't Sarah. It's hard to strike a balance sometimes, especially when my overriding urge for online dialogue is to read, store in my brain, but not comment. Commenting is more a mood I'm in, rather than a way to determine how much I care about something.
But a post can become so much more if you comment. Often the comments after a post compromise a piece of text longer than the post itself. The post is like spark, and the good ones cause very flamey reactions.
It's hard not to agree with me about Sarah, although there is one problem with my argument which I decided not to mention and see if someone caught it, and that is the fact that maybe she does care and that's the message she's trying to carry across. But then again if she cares what we think, why does she do things we do not think highly of. If she cared, she'd just be another Tomek.
Yeah maybe I'll just stop posting altogether and become a commenting demon. That seems appropriate.
